IMPORTANT
Hormonal contraception
This test is not suitable if you are currently using hormonal contraception (e.g. the pill, hormonal coil, implant, patch or vaginal ring), as the results may be falsified. After discontinuation, at least two natural menstrual cycles should have passed for the results to be meaningful. The test can also be useful without a regular cycle - for example in the case of irregular or absent menstruation or to clarify the perimenopause.
Optimal test time
With female hormones, the timing of the blood sample is crucial. If you have an existing cycle, we recommend taking a blood sample between the 2nd and 5th day of your cycle (counted from the first day of your period), ideally early in the morning before 10 am. You can find more details in the FAQs.
